 DETAILED ITINERARY:

7:45-8:15: Get picked up by our local tour guide in Old Quarter.

9:30: Visit Quang Phu Cau Village. We are going to stop at an incense manufacturer to learn how incense has been made, how important it is in our daily life and culture. After that, we are going to stop at a dying yard to take stunning photos with the colorful incense bundles.

11:00: Visit Chuong village which has been well-known for the craft of conical hat for over 300 years. We will be hosted at the home of a local artisan after a short walk through a local market.

Lend a hand to paint your own conical hat (or Nón lá in Vietnamese) to show your creativity and artistic potential talent. In the meantime, the artisan will be preparing lunch. Of course, you are welcome to help her out. Home-cooking could be a great chance to feel the real vibes of the countryside.

13:00: Say goodbye to the lady, let’s make up your day by visiting Ha Thai Village, which has been producing lacquer for more than 400 years. We will meet another lacquer painting artisan who is going to host us at his create space. Immerse yourself as a lacquer artist by crafting your own lacquer product following his instruction. Remember that it takes a few more steps to finish the lacquer product after your hand-drawing. However, if you want to bring home your product, please pick up a similar completed painting with the extra charge 300,000VND/ piece.

After immersing yourself in creating world, you will have a chance to walk around the village to see more about the life of the neighborhood. You will absolutely have a chance to interact with other villagers at the family workshops.

15:30: Time to be back to the city center. On the way back, we will have chance to do some shopping if you are interested in.
